Couchsurfing Experience

Couchsurfing is some kind of travel social media that we can host traveling people, surfed, even host a place to live, after we hosted or surfed we can write a references about them it might be positive, neutral, or negative comments. We will know how's their personality by people references as a consideration.

Last week (April 21st, 2013) i had hosted a guy came from Finland, he have already travelled for seven months and his last trip was Bali the place which i live now. We hung around Kuta, i took him to Indonesian food restaurant because he asked me to take him there but because the place not so comfortable to chatted and relaxed then we moved to a restaurant that i've never been there before and we were shocked because the place is really fancy :P

We utilize our fanciest time there, drink cocktail and eat creme brulle as a dessert. Killed our time chit and chat, he shared his seven months traveling stories and showed his traveling book. The one that makes me jealous is he traveled around Australia, his travel experience seems really fun and awesome. He told me that tomorrow he would go to Ubud with their friends in hostel for two days (oops another jealousy)

Our first impression is really nice and we exchange our facebook account to keep in touch, we keep chatted while he was in Ubud. I couldn't go with him to Ubud because i have to work on weekdays. It seems like a positive things that we made new people with a nice personality.

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013.
He came back from Ubud, he pick me up at my office (he's really sweet, isn't he?) when working hours ended. After that we walked across my office to the beach because my office is in front of the beach, stared at the sky with beautiful stars, i strummed my ukulele and singing. It such a romantic moment we had together, between the song we chatted again and sing again. Two hours has passed by and our tummy was screaming :P then we went to the same fancy restaurant but in different location, i thought its not that fancy because not located in a hotel, in reality still the same fancy though. Haha

After tummy filled, we hang around Legian street then back to the beach again lean back on the sand stared the stars. I fell asleep at the moment and he was hugging me that time. Day by day passing by, everytime my working hours ended, he waited for me at my office he is really nice, humorous, easy going, anything great is inside him. Unfortunately he has to go to Bangkok then off to his hometown the day after tomorrow, i feel so sad even cry :( I see now this is hows it like having summer romance or holiday romance, it does hurts but that's the reality. I hope i can meet him again in another time, really missed that funny silly guy.

Live My Life

Last month i've got the most terrible feeling but i don't know how express in a good way. Finally to be announced i've got a job outside my hometown which is the dream city i want to live is Bali. Terrible because i'm the youngest and only one daughter that my parents have so they weren't allow me to take the job and move to Bali. Got freaked out of their reaction but finally they let me go, because i they were not let me go i thought i wouldn't go to Singapore with my family and nieces.

Luckily me i can live my dream now work and live in paradise, i really love this place time is running so fast in here and everyday is like a holiday because i can easily go to the beach anytime i want though my office is right on the beach i feel so lucky now :) Another reason is i want to live as an independent woman, live in my own place to avoid shock when i get marry in the future ;)

I live at boarding house with warm and nice family member, the dogs, and neighbor too. My place is quite strategic to everywhere, 15 minutes to the beach, 5 minutes to party area, and many many restaurants there from various price the cheapest and most expensive ones. At this time i have try to host people from around the world by Couchsurfing. I have met several people who really nice to me and they're really enjoyed their trip with me, hosted everywhere great public places, cafes, clubs, etc. Shared many different stories from their own country, it was like a great experience to know new people out there in tourism city which i lived in.

Java Jazz Festival 2013

Several days ago i went to the biggest annual jazz festival in Indonesia called Java Jazz Festival held for three days. Actually it was my first time came to this event because i'm not really interested with jazz music and unfortunately they always bring special artist in seperate special ticket price, for the example last year they have brought Stevie Wonder in a shocking seperated price, meanwhile i really wanted to see this legend. I thought the concert would be aired on TV, because every year the concert always aired on TV, unfortunately his concert was late almost two hours suddenly the concert couldn't be aired :'((

For this year, the special artist are Joss Stone, Basia, and Craig David. Luckily me this year my brother offered me to watched Java Jazz Festival (JJF), because i know he and his wife are biggest fans of Craig David. I came on the last day where Craig David would play that day, on that day my favorite performance are Oddie Agam and the special show from Craig David. Oddie Agam is a famous songwriter in 80's generation, he has created many popular songs in Indonesia.

Oddie Agam played piano, duet with his son Alif

Tjut Nyak Deviana (piano), Oddie Agam, and Tompi (left)

Oddie's concert had not done yet but my brother wanted to watch Phil Perry then we were going to his concert in the next hall (no photos -sorry). As i remember when i was a kid my mom play his song on the radio, so i could sing a little to his songs so lovely and his voice is sooo incredible at that age. After Phil's concert it was getting dark, Craig's concert schedule was 8 pm, we killed time filled out tummy bought a crepe, we didnt see any queue into Craig's concert. So we hang around to many stages there, it was almost an hour to his concert but we still didn't see any queue, then my sister in law asked the crew, the queue right behind the hall then "OMG!! we're late!!" ok we were trapped in a very long queue.

We were stand in a queue for almost one and half hour, and it was late one hour from the schedule, everytime i stared the sky, the cloud seemed thicken slowly after a long time we heard a rumble of thunder (dang! bless you). Slow down water speck on each point then heavy rain was coming, ack! it was my first time came to JJF and first time for me trapped in the rain while queued a concert, i always bring an umbrella anytime but it seemed useless because its hard to handle the umbrella while the people behind me pushed to get into the hall (damn it)

The ticket in my hand folded neatly because of heavy rain my ticket was terribly wet and i couldn't open the ticket, my brother said don't open the ticket and let the crew open your ticket because it is their fault to trap us in the rain. Luckily the barcode still could read my damp clammy sloppy ticket (ewh!) we ran into the hall quickily to get the front row and then we still had to waiting in the wet for 30 minutes of check sound. Wow we heard Craig's voice behind the curtain, everyone's screaming wow i never thought his voice is so amazing.

'Till finally the curtain was open and let his concert begun with What's Your Flava, we were sing and dance along Craig David's concert. Suddenly after several songs, he took a break and changed himself into a DJ well he turned the concert became a disco club, woohoo! many song he had play from TLC, Ne-Yo, until Rihanna. I know several songs of him because when my brother in high-school he was always listened to Craig David to me, the concert had ended with Seven Days as the encore.

It's us were still waiting Craig David in the wet condition

After Craig David's concert we were totally limped as too tired after many hours, we walked into the food area and suddenly rain was falling again, ok luckily us we find dinner there and i've never eat so voraciously in almost midnight. After finished our dinner we were sitting on the floor because there were full table, suddenly there were short-circuits occurs in some elictricity in the food area (dang! creepy) we were scared and my sister ran first because too scared of fire in the rain. At the end my first Java Jazz Festival was totally crazy to imagine, i hope for the next events can be well organized inside and out.
